Larry: This is a sweet sign in the Lynnwood area. "Rose" Motel...do I dare say it sounds like a chick place.

Brett: It's totally the kind of place that you could take that special lady in your life for a nice weekend getaway and I don't even think she would hate you for too very long. So.... This sign is really pretty interesting. I like how the main vertical portion has no parallel lines contrasted by the rectangle that constrains the word MOTEL in it's own parallel prison which in turn is contrasted by the somewhat circular area that has the rose. The sign is playing with fire on this point sense in many artists opinion a circle is too strong of a shape to use since it draws a persons attention to it and keeps it there. Larry? Thoughts? Larry? Wake up!!!

Larry: Huh?...Oh yeah...what were you saying? The vertical pale green section is like a vase. As I drive by this sign I want to stop and pick the Rose and put in on top (in the vase).

Brett: Nice observation. I like how you can get the room WITH a kitchenette and all starting at just $35. This reminds me of the time you pointed out the "lose 30lbs in 30 days" sign of one another motel we "critiqued".

Here is what others have said:

Ian says: Haven't seen this one in quite a while. Old Lynnwood is disappearing very quickly. We used to call this place the "Roach" instead of the "Rose" motel. Used to know some girls who rented there, we had a party in one of those tiny rooms in about 1988. Take note: JIMBO'S restaurant on the corner of 196th and hwy 99 is gonna be gone very soon. Awesome sign!
